I qualified as a doctor in 2005 and specialised in Emergency Medicine in 2012.
I spent years studying brain anatomy, neuroscience, child development and nervous system science. Plus, during my 16 years of clinical work, I had the honour of witnessing how humans think, feel and behave, especially in stressful situations.
I undertook further training as a parenting coach through The Jai Institute of Parenting.
I am qualified to guide you through your own parenting journey using the latest, up to date research in child development and neuroscience so that you KNOW that you will be doing the best by your kids.
3 months after becoming a Mum, I fell into a hole of anxiety and depression. I panicked when I was alone with Mia. I would beg my husband not to go to work. I saw a psychiatrist on a Friday and by the following Monday, I was admitted to a mother and baby psychiatric unit where we stayed for 5 weeks. It as the hardest thing I've ever been through and the greatest gift.
It means that I am the parent who has felt the overwhelm, the panic, the chaos of it all. I also know what is required to forge a path from surviving to thriving and I want to help as many parents as I can.
In summary, whatever you got, I can handle it. I promise.
I'm a Mum to my strong willed, fiesty and highly sensitive 6 year old daughter so I am right in the trenches with you. I have also been a step-Mum for the last 12 years. I often joke that my parenting journey has been backwards as it started with learning how to parent preteens and teenagers who didn't like the idea of me very much. Whatever stage of parenting you are at, I have the experience and tools to guide you.

Coaching is a relationship designed to help you navigate the challenges and complexities of parenting. Unlike traditional advice-giving or therapy, coaching focuses on empowering you with skills, strategies, and insights to make confident decisions and achieve your parenting goals. Through open conversations and guided discussions, I will support you in finding solutions tailored to your unique situation, fostering personal growth and improved family dynamics.
100%! What happens in our sessions stays in our sessions, just like seeing a therapist. The only exemption to this would be if I had concerns about serious danger to you or your children but we would discuss this.
Reaching your parenting goals will be a lifelong process as you and your children change and grow. However, shifts happen very quickly with this program. Within one or two sessions, clients feel more supported, seen and empowered.
While parenting books offer valuable insights, they only provide general knowledge, but coaching adapts that knowledge to your family's needs and challenges. The relationship that we build will allow me to help identify and remove blocks that may be getting in your way. For example, you may read a parenting book that explains that play is important but when it comes to playing with your children, you feel dread. We would gently uncover the root cause of these feelings and help you move through them.
I run parent-centric programs, meaning that what we learn here is 100% parent-focused. This is not behavioral modification of children. The strategies I teach show parents how to connect deeply with their children, with dignity, honor and mutual respect.
Neuro-diverse children thrive when parents are given these tools, as these skills that can often be more challenging for children on the spectrum (like emotional self-regulation) are being modeled in a consistent, calm and compassionate way.
